The Platform

The project is located at the disused railway station in Highgate, North London. Research in the area revealed that the population in outer London is ageing and there is a lack of facilities for older people compared to central London.
Therefore, the project aims to create a platform for the local and migrant elderly population to socialize, and at the same time, take advantage of the disused station to bring the public into the project, so that the elderly population can be better integrated into social activities.

By covering the entire derelict station, the ground floor will once again become the entrance to Highgate Station. The main building becomes a platform for linking the station to the ground level and revitalizing the entrances and exits.

The interior space has a strongly colored walkway, which enhances the ability to navigate the space and allows the elderly to move around the space more easily. The openings towards the ground floor also allow the internal space of the platform to be further integrated with the public space, creating a platform that serves the elderly and is integrated into the public space.
