Unfold Bedouin
Our project is called "Unfolding Bedouin". Our goal is to provide a cultural center that showcases the past of the Bedouin culture, unfolds the Bedouin culture, and shows the future of the Bedouin culture.
Based on an analysis of contemporary Bedouin ghetto neighborhoods, using Al Ain as an example, it was found that the neighborhood divides itself into primary and secondary functional areas, with all facilities oriented to public functions located along the central axis and the creek corridors divided into primary pedestrian routes, while the Sikka, which represents the small alleys between the houses, has been preserved. The underground space of the project is divided accordingly.
The main body of the project is shaped as an open space, meaning that the Bedouin culture is presented to the public. The result is a space with different dimensions facing the ultra-modern city center of Dubai, while at the same time showing the future of Bedouin and Arab culture.
